A dynamic, friendly community

A commune where people want to live, have fun, enjoy culture, share good times, play sports and any other activity that creates links between people who live something together.

CONTEXT

Contradicting its reputation as a “dormitory” community, Wezembeek-Oppem has recently seen the development of a new spirit and a wave of civic activities, block parties and neighborly support. We must support and develop this new ambition.

Our position

We want to make Wezembeek-Oppem a dynamic, exemplary and attractive community for all its inhabitants.

This means offering a wide range of cultural, festive, sporting and recreational activities that create links.

We want the municipality to be a facilitator of conviviality, providing the best possible support for initiatives led by citizens, neighborhood committees and associations, and facilitating administrative and practical organization.

OBJECTIves 2030

  • Install youth facilities such as a pumptrack and skatepark at the leisure center.

  • Set up the framework and facilitation tools for civic events

  • Install sports facilities such as two mini-basketball and soccer fields

  • Set up a games library to encourage encounters, exchanges and tournaments

Our actions

  • Create a recreational and cultural hub around Parc des Dauphins.

  • Appoint a leisure coordinator to serve local residents and associations.

  • Develop a quality sports offer adapted to the different needs of W-O citizens.

  • Offer logistical and financial support to associations that help make our community more dynamic and friendly.

Your suggestions

During our surveys and discussions, we noted your expectations:

  • To have a place (a kind of town center) where residents can meet/gather, a bakery, a café, a brasserie and thus give more life to our neighborhood with pleasant indoor and outdoor spaces.
