#17 Joke Paermentier

WHO AM I?

My name is Joke Paermentier, 52 years old, born and raised in Wezembeek-Oppem and living in Oscar de Burburelaan 46.

I am the proud mother of my 18-year-old son Robbe.

I grew up amidst a family of entrepreneurs where my parents have always been active as independent entrepreneurs in their “Laundry Flandria” in Wezembeek-Oppem.

Professionally, I work as an administrative assistant at Gardena/Husqvarna Group in Zaventem.

As a socially liberal busy bee, I like to be involved and participate in the community life of our municipality. I am also the director of the theatre group “De Morgenster”.

My Motivations

My political commitment is driven by my desire to make Wezembeek-Oppem a livable and dynamic municipality for and by everyone. I want to work together with all Wezembeek-Oppem residents to create a safe and green municipality where it is pleasant to live, work, live.

my Priorities

  1. Welfare and Inclusion: Involving everyone, excluding no one: All services and associations should be open and accessible to all. The municipality should provide material, legal and care support.

  2. Road safety and mobility for all: Wezembeek-Oppem must be safe and accessible to all, with good footpaths, bicycle lanes and environmentally friendly streets. Public transportation must be available to all.

  3. Green neighbourhoods with sustainable and affordable housing: Everyone should have the freedom to choose how they want to live: in a house or apartment, or as a senior at home.

  4. An entrepreneurial municipality: A municipality that supports local economic activity by developing a favourable framework and conditions for local stores, entrepreneurs, self-employed and liberal professions.
