#3 JEAN HERMESse

WHO AM I?

I've lived in La Placette, a group housing community in the heart of Wezembeek-Oppem, since 1985. As an active retiree (69 years old), I was elected to the CPAS Council in 2018 and became its president in 2022, a position I still hold today. With the wonderful CPAS team, we are proud to have implemented and developed the Hoplr platform in the municipality and launched projects as rich and diverse as the Circles, the summer festival for seniors, the Children's House, the blabla café, and the reflection on the plateau des possibles in Ban Eik... and other projects will be completed such as the Alzheimer café, the Digi café, the neighbourhood services centre, and the shared benches. In parallel, I am a director at the Onze Lieve Vrouw nursing home.

My goal is to continue to invest in a supportive and caring municipality, promoting positive health for all.

My Motivations

My ambition is to improve the quality of life for everyone on a daily basis through land development that promotes soft mobility, natural spaces for meeting and relaxation, through collective services that promote sharing, mutual aid, and social cohesion, and through an accessible cultural life that creates bonds and the pleasure of being together.

My PRiorities

  • Comfortable and safe sidewalks, paths, and lanes to encourage physical activity, soft mobility, and social interactions.

  • Strengthen social cohesion and mutual aid in each neighborhood, fostering connections and improving quality of life at all ages.

  • Dare to undertake long-term projects that will change the face of the municipality: the development of Chaussée de Malines, a new recreational park and community center, a proxy-services center...

  • Increase the number of places in nurseries to reach 50 places per 100 children aged 0-2.

A quality life for all! Health for life!
