#22 Isabelle Bourguignon
WHO AM I?
We moved to Wezembeek in 2003 with a strong desire to become fully integrated into our neighbourhood. I believe it is essential to know your neighbours and benefit from your community. I quickly organized flea markets in our street, which, thanks to Free Time, grew into neighbourhood parties.
Passionate about nature (setting up vegetable gardens/greenhouses/insect hotels), I believe our environment plays an essential role in our physical and mental well-being, and that’s why it is crucial to preserve what surrounds us every day.
My motivations
I am highly motivated to keep our natural environment as rich as possible and, above all, to enable everyone to do the same (setting up training for all: shared vegetable gardens, land management, creating insect hotels, beehives, etc.). The economic aspect is also fundamental.
Fostering even more moments of community by creating meeting places for everyone, combined with stores offering organic, local, and short-supply-chain products. I am bilingual in French and English, with fairly good knowledge of Dutch. Very attentive and proactive. I love walking in flip-flops and rolling in the grass!
priorities
Environment: Encourage citizens to become aware of their surroundings and biodiversity by creating learning spaces.
Mobility: Harmoniously integrate different modes of transport for good traffic flow and safety.
Community: Support citizens and associations in their initiatives that promote community spirit.
Our human and natural environment is important. Let’s take care of it!
