#6 Baudouin
Kelecom

WHO AM I?

My name is Baudouin Kelecom. With Cécile Verlinden “my partner in life” we have three children who are our heroes and our challengers on a daily basis. They embark on a complex world with a much better sense of balance than their parents!

I am a civil engineer architect (ULG) probably to combine heart and reason and burgerlijk ingenieur in industrieel beleid (KUL). Chemistry and energy on a daily basis have defined my professional challenges: from their efficiency to their sustainability.

We have accompanied our children in their development through their schools, scouts and parish. They have become our best teachers. With a great team of volunteers, I chair the board of directors of our two parish schools and their talented educational team.

Motivations

At 67, it seems to me that the world has become more extreme and more divided. There is also a loss of confidence in our institutions. My greatest desire is to restore this trust for all and to allow young people and each generation to take up the challenge of our beautiful democracy again. We have a unique opportunity in a municipality built on diversity; a diversity that is linguistic, cultural, economic and institutional.

We can do a lot for each other in our beautiful village of Wezembeek-Oppem. Together, if you wish, let's find the balance between professionalism and idealism, rigor and creativity, youth and experience.

Priorities

  • Restore trust in our institutions and enable young people and every generation to renew their faith in our beautiful democracy.

  • Support the development and well-being of everyone, from infants to seniors.

  • Promote integrated healthcare for all; work with the CPAS and the municipality to ensure everyone receives attention.

  • Facilitate local economic initiatives and their economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
