WHO AM I?

Antoine SILVERBERG, A dedicated individual working for the benefit of Wezembeek-Oppem

I am the proud father of Siméon (7), Soline (5), and Ernest (3). I have been a fixture in the community since my relationship with my wife began in 2005, and I have lived in Wezembeek-Oppem since 2018.

I am creative and enjoy thinking outside the box. I am passionate about the causes I believe in. My values include family, social justice, equality, and the fight against exclusion.

I believe in giving back to my community. I have been a leader in youth movements, led youth mass, and have volunteered for the King Baudouin Foundation since 2011. In 2021, I co-founded the citizen's council of Wezembeek-Oppem, an initiative that gave rise to the citizen movement Wezem'Move.

I hold a degree in social work and a master's degree in social enterprise management. Professionally, I have been supporting vulnerable groups for over 16 years: as a social worker in a social welfare centre and in the disability sector, and as a social credit advisor for a credit institution. At the same time, my entrepreneurial spirit has allowed me to develop my own business in sales. Today, I am a business startup coach in the Brussels Capital Region.

Motivations

Drawing on my experience in the social sector and my training in social enterprise management, I am convinced that I can bring a new dynamic to the CPAS of Wezembeek-Oppem. My priorities will be:

  • Housing: Promoting access to quality housing for all, especially for single-parent families and the elderly. Maintaining social housing, supporting energy-saving renovations, and ensuring the availability of affordable housing.

  • Youth: Supporting young people in their academic and professional paths, by providing them with tools and opportunities. Driver's license training, entrepreneurship training, collaboration with, for example, the association duo for a job.

  • Solidarity: Combating isolation, developing intergenerational projects, and fostering social connection. Dedicated support service for single parents, development of intergenerational activities (Scrabble, neighbourhood circle, kangaroo housing, digital café, etc.)

  • Early childhood: To meet the growing needs of young families in Wezembeek-Oppem, promote the creation of childcare places for children aged 0-3, accredited by Kind & Gezin, at affordable rates. By making municipal premises available at preferential rents to encourage the development of quality childcare projects.

I am a strong advocate for social innovation and believe in the power of collective action. That is why I want to put my skills at the service of our community to build a more just and supportive future.
